How to reach the Italian Center for Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
By car: coming from the motorway, exit at Vicenza Ovest, go straight for 3.9 km following the signs for Verona-Thiene-Schio, proceeding along Viale degli Scaligeri and then onto Viale del Sole. Turn right near the shopping centre. Auchan, along Strada delle Cattane proceeding straight ahead for 700 meters passing the first roundabout. The building is located on the right near the 2nd roundabout (7min). This intensive and highly interactive training (which can also be organized in a residential retreat format) emphasizes the importance of personal meditation practice and self-exploration on the part of the clinician. Through role-playing games, classroom simulations, videos of group or individual sessions of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, it explores and deepens the effective application of mindfulness practices in working with patients suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The course program examines the fundamentals of the model Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and integrates individual didactic, experiential learning with small group work. It includes daily static and active meditations and, in the retreat format, periods of silence. Furthermore, the training highlights our ability to clearly experience the interaction of thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations – and how our awareness and relationship with these internal experiences enhances or distorts our ability to understand. our way of reacting to events and working with people with OCD. The contents, themes and programs of each session of the Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy protocol for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder are explored in detail and also illustrated through videos of real groups. During the course, participants receive the material for each session, used by instructors and patients, which includes handouts, summaries, exercise sheets and transcripts of the guided exercises. In the retreat format, participants remain inside the host facility the entire time and consume meals on site.
